After all these blogs and news items with the general theme of ... 'please be patient, we haven't finished it yet'... and... 'honestly it's definitely worth the wait'....i'm not sure what to write any more
It's here, it's streaming - yep it's the first track off the long awaited 'Ocean Floor E.P' - Track 1 - Blackshadow.
I've got no moans, groans, grumbles and bumbles to insert into this little text box. Oh goodness, i actually think I was meant to be that dark little cynic writing away...but now the time has come and , you know what, it's a massive relief that it's here and people have heard and haven't torn me apart! And now I can write about puppies and flowers and pretty girly things! Ha.
I guess what i am wanting to say is, I hope that it's different from what you were expecting, and i hope you like it. This track was the little bitch out of them all, the one that me and John really fought with. And you can probably hear that...it has a mind of its own and we tried to get it under control, but I quite like that she still runs away a bit.
Here's the arty bit - I wrote this song on me mums old nylon string guitar a couple of years ago, in the middle of winter, in the snow capped Pyrenees *whilst surrounded by luxurious feather pillows, a glass of champagne in hand totally apres ski dahlink* Wrote the lyrics on the back of receipt, and recorded it on my sony ericsson mobily phone *. And then i sat on it for two years.
But here it is, re-incarnated to its full beauty..i hope you like it!!!
Again, major props to John Elliott and Andrew Archer at Loft productions - a producer is an invaluable assett to rent :) I'm saying thankyou to them, although they probably wont read this, as Trafik are in Cacao, Macau and various other exotic locations ending in cao/cau. Alright you jet boat setters. Rub it in.
I'll leave you with one of the pictures from my recent photo shoot with the delectable www.garrodkirkwood.com
I think this one suits the track...
