I've done that thing where it's been so long since I've written a blog that i've built it up to be this huge issue and then I can't be arsed to write one because i think it's going to be a massive drain on my resources but actually when i've just written this paragraph, it wasn't so hard and it's broken the ice so now i can start rambling.

Been a busy few months! Had a huge response to the two tracks that have been streaming, which has been a big buzz. I guess i'll highlight the best bits (and censor all the rest!)

Newcastle University have kindly featured an interview that went out to a ridiculous mind bloggling number of inboxes - read the interview here: http://www.ncl.ac.uk/alumni/arches/page.htm?introducing-the-sound-of-hattie-murdoch

The wonderful people at Amazing Radio have been playing Submarine which has been a lovely lovely thing to do - I got an email about it and made everyone in the office shut up and listen. Bloody marvellous.

I have played a couple of really awesome gigs recently - i've got the addition of the loop pedal which has had mixed reviews, but i've enjoyed the challenge and written some new stuff on it - I believe that anything that can push you into writing a bit more/something different can only be a good thing. Oxjam at Hyem was great - it was like we were in someones living room, with a log fire burning...on the TV..most boring DVD i've ever watched....! Back there on December 3rd - really looking forward to that.

Also got through to the next round of the North East Unsigned competition (run by Generator and Head of Steam LTD). My supporters all very kindly drank a huge number of drinks to get the voting slips to get me through...I apologise to the livers. We'll do it all again for the quarter finals in February though, yeah? Plenty of time for recovery!

Last Tuesday I played an awesome gig at The Cluny supporting the incredible Magazine Gap on their UK tour. We all had a good laugh and the gig was great - Magazine Gap are tight as hell - i guess thats what a few months on tour will do to you! The lovely Mike Gatto Band also supported - I enjoyed it a lot. He's got some cool stuff.

Here's a lovely little youtube vid from that gig: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcHT-QspIs4 Thanks to Jamie for this!

I've got a great gig coming up at The Sage Hall 2 on Dec 12th, should be back in the studio soon. And i'm moving house, working 50 hours a week in a day job, looking after sick cats and dogs with depression, training for a Triathlon, looking after toilets in Digital and studying to be a flight attendant. Like to keep my options open!

Over and Ooooot,

x
